At Nordic Hope, we are orienting ourselves towards an Alaskan Malamute that is the most versatile possible. Being a working dog, it is primary that this aspect of the dog be exploited. This is why we participate at numerous activities with them : sledding expedition, ski-joring, bike-joring and back packing. Since we are still new at this, there are numerous things that interest us and that we want to do in the near future. These things are agility, obedience, dog therapy and weight pulling. We also actively participate, and this since 2007, to conformation shows.

Nordic Hope is a small kennel of five dogs and we want to keep it small in order to be able to give them the attention, affection and exercise they deserve.

When we will be ready to breed, we will take into consideration the temperament of the parents, their health ( OFA, CERF, CHD ) and also their conformation to the breed standard. The temperament of the puppies will be tested before their departure towards their new family. They will receive their 2 first vaccinations. They will be dewormed and microchipped and they will receive the base of socialization with other dogs and humans.

The potential families will be filtered through the puppy adoption questionnaire ( see below ), and also by other questions that we will judge important to ask.

* Please consider also adopting a malamute from the Alaskan Malamute HELP league. Some of our malamute friends were not so lucky and are looking for good homes… Those can make extraordinary companions too!
